Alter Ego Tempe - An New Upscale Restaurant Offering a Unique Culinary Change in Tempe

When it comes to ringing in the New Year its typically all glitz and glam! With the increasing number of COVID cases and parts of the country on lockdown, a New Years' celebration seemed very unlikely. That is until Alter Ego developed a top-tier dining experience for the evening.

Located in the newly opened Canopy by Hilton Tempe, Alter Ego is a restaurant set to engage all of your senses.

Located in the newly opened Canopy by Hilton Tempe, Alter Ego is a restaurant set to engage all of your senses. While you’re dining in Tempe, the flavors set forth in the dishes created by Chef Ken Anerson will take you on a culinary journey.

Upon entering the establishment, which is located on the ground floor, guests will love the open concept. Wide bay windows give a glimpse of the Tempe energy and nightlife, while the decor is minimalist composed of earth tones and greenery. It's the perfect balance and ambiance for the indulgent meal that lies ahead.

The open concept also gives diners a glimpse of the magic in the kitchen. While there was a different menu for New Years Eve, there was plenty to be left to the imagination. The layers of complexity with each dish is striking and oddly addictive. The four-course meal, for New Years Eve, included the below options.

The Scruptuous Menu at Alter Ego in Tempe was Brilliant!

The starter and appetizer full of flavors from Queen Creek Olive Mill! Seeing this on the menu was a nice surprise as I recently took a visit to Queen Creek Olive Mill last month!

I opted for the scallops, as my main dish, which were divine! I'll be honest, I was hesitant to order scallops in the middle of a desert. However Chef Ken Arneson created an intriguing array of flavors. The scallops were the softest I've ever had, and the lobster butter sauce really sealed in the flavors. The root vegetables were an added bonus. I'd happily have this every day if I could.

The limited menu was enough to make a visit to Alter-Ego a regular treat. I can't wait to try their regular options such as the Katsu Chicken Sandwich! It’s a Noble Bun. Siracha Honey Glaze, Asian Pear Slaw, Spiked Aioli, and Fries - I’ve heard it’s AMAZING!

All diners will feel extremely safe while at this establishment. COVID-19 protocols were top of mind as all tables were spaced out, every server/staff member wore masks. The entire hotel takes the pandemic response one step further by ensuring Alter Ego falls in compliance with Hilton Hotel’s rigorous CleanStay standards as well.

Alter Ego is a fancy-er restaurant off of Mill Ave. near ASU that you could take your parents to yet chic enough for a date with friends. No matter the celebration, a visit to Alter Ego is always a good idea!
