Chrystyna Marie is an artist in her own right. Originally from Toronto, but currently residing to Los Angeles, a city that is perfect for perfecting your craft, she sets her sights on becoming the next big thing. With tons of preparation and experience under her belt she took the plunge to releasing her next album, LIFE.
"Breath is life, and life is music. I wanted to create music from personal experiences and true emotions. Something the everyday person can relate to and build strength from having been exposed to it. With a raw and gritty feel to emulate these experiences and emotions."
As for the CD itself, there are a handful of singles that personally distance themselves from the lull of the rest of the album. "Mr. Insecurity," and "No Body Knows When You're Down and Out," were a couple that solid singles that shined through with a writing style similar to the Great Etta James. Both singles are great, however it's the single, "Mama's Blues," that takes the cake. While the other items on the CD were pretty lackluster in terms of vocal ability, this single dismisses any doubts you may have had.
When it comes to the blues rock genre of music, there are no shortage of icons. Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Eric Clapton and of course many others have paved the way when it comes to this specific genre. Heavy electrifying guitar strokes intertwined with harmonicas have been the backbone of a genre that revolutionized music as we know it!
Every genre does have the classic key players that you may strive to be, however some individuals just get it! While I wouldn't classify Chrystyna Marie as Blues Rock, she is still an artist to watch! Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
