Tucked away deep in the Temescal Valley of Corona, California., Glen Ivy has it all. There are 19 pools that spans over the 12-acre property including: mineral pools, saline pools, lap pools, hot tubs, as well as club mud (which is a great way to naturally rid the body of any impurities.) After all Glen Ivy has provided the gift of relaxation, renewal and a deep sense of wellbeing for over 158 years to guests. With an idyllic year-round temperate climate, Glen Ivy Hot Springs attracts over 200,000 people a year.

Recently I had the pleasure of going to Glen Ivy to check out their latest, the Shirodhara treatment. It's a deeply relaxing and rejuvenating body treatment from the ancient Ayurvedic holistic healing practice. The team has partnered with Shankara Naturals, a 100% organic, natural, vegan, cruelty-free Ayurvedic skincare pioneer, in order to deliver a truly unique experience that pays homage to the culture and its authenticity.

“We are excited to introduce the ancient Shirodhara practice and Ayurvedic philosophy to our guests,” said Clive McNish, General Manager of Glen Ivy Hot Springs. “The transformative relaxation benefits of Shirodhara expand the wellness focus of our robust, globally inspired treatment menu.”

The treatment begins with a powerful aromatherapy inhalation session to activate the senses and energy centers. Oil is then poured over your third eye to heighten your senses and create a calming sensation. Although this service does not offer a full body massage but a brief foot and hand massage follow to further activate vital organ energy centers and relieve stress. The final step is the scalp massage.

I'll admit, I didn't expect to have the experience I did. I left feeling very rejuvenated, content, and with a sense of security. I noticed I also felt grounded, like someone literally just pushed a "reset" button.

Pro-tip: Leave the oil from the scalp treatment in for 2-24 hours after. Your scalp and hair will feel well-conditioned and luxurious.

Complete your spa day with delicious bites at the cafe on site. The extensive menu offers a variety of decadent salads as well as flat breads and a nice selection to make an envious chartreuse board.

Glen Ivy Hot Springs is an exceptional experience, unlike any other. Take some "me" time today, you deserve it!
