Supernatural Goes Scooby-Doo - The Collaboration of Your Childhood
PaleyFest extended beyond the theater tonight with a nice little surprise for its fans!The cast and creatives of The CW’s Supernatural were honored at The Paley Center for Media’s 35th Annual PaleyFest TV Festival. Guests at the Supernatural event were treated to the world premiere of “Scoobynatural,” the highly anticipated Supernatural and Scooby-Doo crossover episode. In celebration of this exciting mash-up episodic event, “The Mystery Machine” and “Baby” were parked just steps away from the DOLBY Theatre in the Hollywood & Highland center court; retailer Hot Topic released an exclusive collection of Scoobynatural merchandise; and Scooby-Doo himself stopped by to greet fans. The event even had some talent from the show interacting with fans on the bustling block of Hollywood & Highland.
When the Supernatural panel kicked off, there were Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, Alexander Calvert, along with Exec Producers and Showrunners Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb as well as EPs Eugenie Ross-Leming and Brad Buckner sitting on stage to dish on the latest with the series.
Mum was the word as far as the future for the beloved series, however there were many moments thoroughout the night which made fans hopeful for a promising return for its 14th season. As die-hard fans know, the new addition of Jack may just be the ammo needed to lock in a few more seasons to come. At one point over the panel, Singer was asked about casting Calvert in the role of Jack, a new addition to this season, he said, “we knew it was going to be a season long and maybe more,” when referring to the part of Jack - see there IS hope!
The show has latest an amazing 13 seasons and has a devoted following, news of a 14th season renewal would actually come as no surprise. The series continues to be a sturdy ratings performer and CW President Mark Pedowitz has stated that the show will carry on as long as Padalecki and Ackles want to do it.
Supernatural airs Thursdays on the CW and wraps on May 3rd.
