Recently industry insiders took to the Hollywood Hills for a night to remember! David Auburn's play, "An Upset" was brought to life at the Sheats-Goldstein home in Beverly Hills.
Directed by Jeffrey Meek and starring co-producer Ryan Sweeney (who also serves as producer along with Chris Schembra and Andrew Sokolsky) and Troy Clevenger the unique short play follows the lives of two tennis players - one American, entitled, and argumentative and the other a younger Romanian 'newbie', and gives a glimpse into the world of tennis.
Showcasing their love for the sport came naturally, as Andrew and Ryan have played tennis since college. Paying homage to a sport that has made such an impact on their lives is the main key factor of the evening and landing an iconic location such as the Goldstein-Sheats only intensifies that. Many may recognize the location from photoshoots, movies, or featured in Curbed Magazine as "The Most Spectacular House in Los Angeles". The best part of the evening - the fact it was all for a great cause. The evening went to benefit the Easter Seals, a non-profit charity that assist adults and children with disabilities.
An Upset hopes to have performances world wide with hopes of landing on the big screen. Where tennis meets theater and charity, this night was anything other than 'an upset'. Stay tuned for additional information!
