Santa Barbara is a place that has garnished a reputation for its unprecedented wines and food, however, they have added another notch on the roster-Polo!
Polo, a social sport that is known for its high brow lifestyle and entertainment creates an environment where attendees are right in the heat of the action. We had the opportunity to experience Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club and get a glimpse of what makes this particular field different from any other.
Just a little over an hour outside of Los Angeles Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club creates a unique experience for attendees of all ages. For starters, the club has: 141 condominium units, two swimming pools, a jacuzzi, 8 tennis courts, a clubhouse, an exorcise track for horses, an arena, stabling for 350 horses, and three turf fields. The club creates a social environment that is backed by years of history!
Guests are invited to make a full day and truly capture the beauty of an afternoon with friends by lounging field side taking in the game, enjoying beauty treatments, while enjoying tasty bites!
One of the fun aspects of polo is the 'divet stomp' where guests are invited to come on the field enjoy cider or a glass of complimentary champagne while assisting in turning over the divets created by the horses throughout the game.
Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet also gives lessons for various skill levels and truly fulfills the definition of 'community'. In addition to the polo matches guests are invited to get hair and make up touchups to ensure to always look their best throughout the day.
While the season may be over, we are counting down till the start of next season in May! From the nonstop entertainment, beauty treatments, to undeniable hospitality - I know where I will be enjoying the polo matches.
