Music Recap:
Alabama Shakes:

The beloved Southern blues-rock band Alabama Shakes has officially announced their highly anticipated comeback tour for 2025. So when their name appeared on the festival lineup, it was a moment of pure elation for longtime fans. The band had been on hiatus since 2018, after lead singer Brittany Howard stepped away to pursue a solo career. But in 2024, a special benefit concert reunited the group — and shortly after, they unveiled plans for a North American tour. The festival marked just the second stop on this long-awaited return to the stage.
“I’m not really a speech person - that wasn’t the gift I got,” Howard joked to the crowd, flashing a smile. “But I appreciate y’all showing up to watch our set. It feels amazing!” She continued, “Thank y’all for giving me so much pride. I’m just honored to be here.”
True to form, Alabama Shakes delivered a soul-stirring performance that showcased their signature range and emotional depth. Howard’s powerhouse vocals, rich with feeling, instantly reconnected the audience to the magic they’ve missed. The set felt like a warm, familiar hug — a triumphant return rather than a simple reunion. As the show came to a close, Howard left the crowd with one last message: “Be good to yourselves.” as her closing statement.
Hozier:
With his moody, soul-stirring music and commanding baritone, Hozier’s set felt tailor-made for the dramatic downpour that rolled in during his performance. The stormy skies added an ethereal weight to an already haunting show, making it feel almost cinematic — like the weather itself was part of the act. Although the set was cut short by about 30 minutes due to severe weather, the experience still felt transcendent. Hozier once again delivered a masterclass in emotional connection, layering vocals like a sermon and leaving fans deeply moved despite the early end.
Remi Wolf:

Vibrant, chaotic in the best way, and unapologetically real — Remi Wolf’s set was a technicolor burst of energy. Her infectious stage presence, laced with humor and wild spontaneity, matched the boldness of her genre-bending sound. She kicked things off with the fan-favorite “Cinderella” and kept the crowd locked in for the full hour. It’s no surprise she left with even more fans (affectionately known as “Remjobs”) — especially those who stumbled over after Weezer’s set and were pulled in by the sheer magnetism of her performance.
Fall Out Boy:

Fall Out Boy brought the heat to Minnesota — quite literally. Their nearly two-hour set was a full-blown spectacle, complete with fireworks, a giant inflatable bear, cheerleaders, a flaming bass guitar, and even a flying Pegasus. With a career spanning over two decades, the band still performs with the intensity of newcomers, ripping through hits from across their discography while taking time to connect with fans between songs. It's theatrical, it's nostalgic, it's high-octane — and it’s everything you want from a Fall Out Boy show.
Beyond the Music:

Between sets, festivalgoers could explore a variety of activations. Cann offered a refreshing taste of their THC-infused beverages, while Nowadays brought a curated THC mocktail lounge. Other brand activations included White Claw, BeatBox, Mamitas, Tito’s, and more — giving attendees a welcome break from the summer heat. Jersey Mike’s was also on hand to keep fans fueled with their signature subs.
Only in its second year, Minnesota Yacht Club is already carving out a unique identity in the crowded summer festival scene. With a diverse lineup, immersive experiences, and a vibe that blends Midwestern charm with big-stage energy, the three-day event proves it has something for everyone — and it’s only getting started.
