Aug 19 Ian Somerhalder Joins the 2nd Annual Shiseido Blue Project Beach Clean Up

Celebs and insiders took over Shiseido’s Annual Beach Clean-Up on behalf of The Shiseido Blue Project in partnership with World Surf League Pure and WILDCOAST recently. Proving we’ll always gather for a good cause! Ian Somerhalder joined in on the fun and even took to Instagram to share his thoughts on the outing.

“Wow. What a day. I’m excited to be here today in Huntington Beach at the VANS US Open of Surfing competition with #ShiseidoBlue Project for their second-annual beach clean-up, led by @wildcoastcostaconsalvaje – a non-profit environmental organization that conserves coastal and marine ecosystems and wildlife. This was not just about driving awareness this was about action. And I am so grateful to be a part of this,” Ian wrote on Instagram.

He added, “Shiseido Blue Project is a global initiative that launched in 2019 in collaboration with @wslpure, World Surf League’s environmental arm, committed to inspiring, educating and empowering ocean protection.” fans immediately took to the comments in support of the star lending his hand to help the environment. “amazing work,” one fan commented. While another stated, “It’s so good to see that you are helping the environment! Thank you Ian for sharing this project with us [heart]”

The initiative is much-needed and is in collaboration with World Surf League, home of surfing and World Surf League PURE, World Surf League’s environmental initiative, committed to inspiring, educating and empower ocean protection. This global initiative launched in 2019 with a range of activities to protect the ocean, including cleaning up beaches, leading global conservation campaigns like We Are One Ocean, and promoting ocean-and sun-safe habits. This week marked Shiseido Blue Project’s second West Coast beach cleanup joined by Ian Somerhalder alongside World Surf League PURE We Are One Ocean grantee WILDCOAST – an international team that conserves coastal and marine ecosystems and addresses climate change through natural solutions.
