ComplexCon(Versations) showcased big topic discussions that the culture was well overdue to have with panel All Hail the Queens: The Women Changing the Face of Rap staring the phenomenal female rappers who have made a huge impact Eve, Trina, Rico Nasty and Kamaiyah. The conversation began on how these talented females started in the rap game and what challenges they’ve faced making their debuts as a “female rapper” within the hip hop industry? The panel quickly heated up as Trina explains “I feel like for us we do so much it should be female entertainer, female iconic, female legendary,  it should be so much bigger than just a rapper; I think we do way more than go on stage and rap, we shouldn't be boxed in”. Rico took it from there to remind us “ In this day in age, in everything they find a way to make it less than or lower than value. We know we set all the trends. That’s what women do!” The audience quickly applauded her as she spoke her mind on the matter.

Eve came ready to have the discussion that no matter what, being a female and a rapper is not easy, especially in the 90s when it was very male dominated. She opened up about her “being with Ruff Ryders it was like being in hip hop boot camp, I was baby sis, but I wasn't treated any different than the dudes. I had to hustle as hard as they did. If they were in the studio for 24 hours, I was in the studio 24/7.”  The crowd felt the passion as Eve let the people know, there is nothing easy about being a female rapper coming up in the hip hop era.
