2020 Has Been Full of Surprises - Bladder Leakage Doesn't Have to Be One of Them Thanks to the Kegelbell System

2020 has been full of surprises – bladder leakage doesn’t have to be one of them. Urinary incontinence can be a thing of the past with the Kegelbell system  – a modern day take on kegel exercises. The revolutionary Kegelbell system takes the guesswork out of pelvic floor muscle training. In just a couple of weeks, women can reduce annoying leaks and boost confidence with the help of the Kegelbell system.

It’s a no-brainer that Kegelbell was recently named IndieBeautyExpo Best in Show 2019 for Sexual Wellness Product and Personal Intimate Care. Regardless of age, this item is sure to come in handy.

Identify LA got the chance to speak with the creator of Kegelbell, Dr.Schull, on kegelbell and the biggest misconceptions on kegelbell exercises and just why the kegelbell system is necessary for every age!

Identify LA: Should all women consider doing kegel exercises as they age? If so, why?
Dr. Schull: As we age, due to hormonal changes, it is harder for us to build and maintain muscle tone overall. This is also true for pelvic floor muscles, which are the muscles kegel exercise targets. Therefore, we need to explicitly exercise those muscles more frequently or use the assistance of kegel adjunct devices to be sure to build and maintain muscle tone.

IDLA: What is the biggest misconception about kegel exercises?
DS: I find that there are two categories of misconceptions about kegel exercise, the first is that it is easy to do, after all, it takes about two sentences to explain how to kegel, but the problem is the majority of women can’t get the form right and if they do, then they don’t do kegels often enough to get results. For this reason, women, who kegel with improper form or for insufficient time, will think kegel exercise doesn’t work for them, but in fact, kegels may work well for them once they can correct for form and time on task. The other misconception is that kegel exercise is only good for one thing and that one thing was whatever was being emphasized at the moment they learned about kegel exercise. For example, someone may be told kegels are good for bladder leakage, and so they are not aware of the sexual health benefits and vice versa.

IDLA: What are the benefits of using Kegelbell?
DS: Kegelbell is a kegel adjunct device that ensures proper kegel form is automatic, and by using weight resistance it ensures there is less time doing kegel exercise. For example, a woman may kegel with Kegelbell for just five minutes three times a week, as opposed to kegeling three times a day every day as is prescribed for kegel exercise without the assistance of Kegelbell. Given Kegelbell helps ensure proper kegel form, it treats and prevents all the things kegels are known for, namely, incontinence (urine, fecal, gas) and pelvic organ prolapse (bladder, rectum, uterus), and sexual function (laxity, dryness, anorgasmia). Basically, Kegelbell helps restore the dignity of peeing when you want, amplifies one’s sex life, and protects your overall pelvic health.

IDLA: In your opinion, how has Kegelbell revitalized the industry?
DS: We have brought pelvic floor training devices out into the light and mainstream conversation, whereas before such devices were either discussed in medical offices or sex toy stores. Kegelbell has won awards in the Beauty industry (Kegelbell won The Indie Beauty Expo, “Best in Show” in the Sexual Wellness Product category and “Best in Show” in the Personal Intimate Care category in 2019) and captured the interest of beauty experts who listed it as a top product of 2019 and spotted it as a trendsetter for 2020. We are proud to have placed pelvic health into the conversation in terms of a basic self-care tool that women have in their bathroom next to their face wash and night cream.
