Oysters and Martinis - The Perfect Pairing at West Hollywood's Latest Hot Spot, Hudson House

Oysters and Martinis - The Perfect Pairing at West Hollywood's Latest Hot Spot, Hudson House

The latest hot spot, Hudson House, recently opened its doors to Angelenos. Created by Hunter Pond, founder of the top restaurant group Vandelay Hospitality, Hudson House is the first opening of the beloved brand into the California market.

Nestled amongst renowned hotspots (and local favorites) SoHo House, Lavo, and Boa, Hudson House will fit right in. Located within the heart of the iconic Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, their premier eatery, Hudson House, celebrated its grand opening, with a two night celebration where guests such as Lauren Jauregui, Emily Sears, Ryan Rottman, Jordan Gonzalez and Malia Pyles sipped and dined on some of the restaurant's most popular dishes which included East Coast oysters, the world’s coldest martinis and a selection of all American comfort classics.

Located on the border of Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, the chic restaurant offers a comfortable laid-back ode to East Coast upscale casual dining, complete with cold martinis, oysters on ice, and staples like a burger, roast chicken, steak au poivre, and even a lobster roll.

Luckily, we had the opportunity to try a few delectable items and rest assured this will not be our last visit. Start the meal with the Spicy Salmon Crispy Rice. The dish is served with 4 bites, packed with salmon, and served with ginger, lemon ponzu & jalapeno. The Miso Kale & Tuna Salad was delicious. Kale lined with pan-seared #1 ahi, mango, avocado, & fresh herb salad, topped with spicy ponzu vinaigrette. The ahi tuna paired with chunks of mango was a fresh twist, top-notch, and almost like a palette cleanser in food form.

The super star of the meal were the crab cakes as they were truly in a league of their own. Unlike many contenders, the crab cakes at Hudson House are FULL of crab and seared with a light crisp as to not take away from the medley of flavors. The pan-seared jumbo lump crab is placed on top of dill tartar sauce and is served with a tomato salad & coleslaw. Divine!

The newcomer has made quite the impressive entrance and is dishing American fare with an emphasis on sea food and martinis — perfect. Slither into one of their blue-colored leather booths, grab a martini and enjoy the ride.

With locations in Highland Park, Texas; North Dallas; Lakewood; and Las Colinas. A future location in Houston is also in the works, according to the restaurant’s website.
